Graves survives Rengar's Savagery (Q) burst with high base AD and New Destiny (P) armor stacks, then overwhelms him with point-blank shotgun-auto DPS in return.

Before stacking Scalemail (P) fury for Dragon's Descent (R), Shyvana lacks burst and loses early duels to Graves' shotgun burst. Graves invades to choke off her scaling.

Graves closes the gap on Kindred's Dance of Arrows (Q) jump-kite with Quickdraw (E) and pressures with two point-blank shotgun blasts. New Destiny (P) armor stacks let him tank her ranged trades, winning the early duel and invade.

If Nidalee misses Javelin Toss (Q) she has no answer, and if she engages in Aspect of the Cougar (R) melee form she is deleted by shotgun burst. Graves tanks her spear poke with New Destiny (P) armor and lifesteal to take the duel.

Lillia is squishy with no melee burst and gets deleted by two shotgun blasts. Once Graves latches on with a Quickdraw (E) dash, her kite-and-DoT playstyle is shut down.

Xin Zhao closes with Wind Becomes Lightning (W) knock-up and the third hit of Three Talon Strike (Q) to negate Graves' range, blocks and knocks back his ranged damage with Crescent Guard (R), and out-sustains him via Determination (P) to win the early duel.

Olaf locks down Graves' kiting with the Undertow (Q) axe slow, then becomes CC-immune with Ragnarok (R) to stick to him and win extended duels through true damage and lifesteal.

After level 5, Diana lands Crescent Strike (Q), dashes in with Lunar Rush (E), and deletes Graves with the double burst of Moonfall (R), winning trades with the Pale Cascade (W) shield and Moonsilver Blade (P) third-hit bonus damage.
