Ragnarok (R) makes him immune to all CC and slows while he lands Reckless Swing (E)'s true damage; even if Fizz dodges with Playful/Trickster (E), Undertow (Q) slow lets Olaf re-engage and dominate the duel.

Amumu's Bandage Toss (Q) and Curse of the Sad Mummy (R) CC are all ignored by Ragnarok (R), and Reckless Swing (E)'s true damage bypasses his magic resist to melt him fast.

Rammus's Frenzying Taunt (E) and high armor are meaningless — Ragnarok (R) breaks the taunt and Reckless Swing (E)'s true damage ignores armor to chip him down.

Ragnarok (R) ignores Sion's Decimating Smash (Q) knock-up and Unstoppable Onslaught (R) engage, and in extended fights Tough It Out (W)'s lifesteal and Reckless Swing (E)'s true damage overpower tank Sion.

Nidalee kites Olaf with Javelin Toss/Takedown (Q) poke and Aspect of the Cougar (R) mobility, so his health is chipped before he closes and even Undertow (Q) slow can't catch her.

While Gwen is inside Hallowed Mist (W) and Olaf remains outside, his basic attacks and Undertow (Q) cannot hit her. A Thousand Cuts (P)'s max-health magic damage and healing wear Olaf down in the extended fight.

Kindred kites Olaf out of range with auto-attacks and Wolf's Frenzy (W) movement speed, then nullifies his execute window with Lamb's Respite (R) to reverse the 1v1.
